Major Projects – Shrine Of Remembrance

February 21, 2014

Architectural Panel Systems are currently in the process of manufacturing the external cladding, internal cladding, roofing and associated accessories at one of Melbourne’s Major Projects – The Shrine Of Remembrance.

The projects involves the use of Architectural Panel Systems’s Interlocking Panel system, developed into a Cassette Panel style cladding, all fabricated from the unique copper alloys “Brass”. This Brass facade as seen in the images below, will be an exact duplicate on the buildings opposing corner.

The Brass facade on the Shrine Of Remembrance is the prime feature on this project and the first visual aspect seen when entering the premises.

Upon completion of the Brass Interlocking Panel facade, the material will then be patinated to an Antique Bronze colour to replicate the current entry ways on the other 2 corners of the project. The roof of the Shrine entrance will also be clad in Brass, this time in our Standing Seam system, also to be patinated into an Antique Bronze colour.

Behind the doors of the Shrine entrance will be internal cladding, also supplied by Architectural Panel Systems. This will involve a Stainless Steel Cassette Panel style cladding on the walls and the roof on the internal entrance way.

Also supplied by Architectural Panel Systems for this project was 200 L/M worth of a solid Brass angle, in a 75mm x 50mm x 6mm thick extruded section.

This involved overseas co-operation, custom designed dies and many other proecesses to get this right. The Brass angle is also to be patinated to an Antique Bronze colour to match existing.
